Cheryl created a new “little book” that should make vocabulary fun. Upper grade teachers will love the new twist to practicing the Nifty Thrifty Fifty words offered by creative teacher, Rhonda Reed. And, all teachers will enjoy the Fortune Teller pattern offered by PA curriculum specialist, Carol Fredericks (See "Handout" section)

4 Blocks & Story Bits What are Story Bits? Story Bits are concrete memories that children can use to retell and share something they have read or that has been read to them. Teachers must think of what little "bit" of a story would help the children remember what has been read. Some examples follow:
Story Bits ~ the Sequel The last article on using the summer to plan for the inclusion of Story Bits as a connection home stimulated the minds of many creative teachers on the Teachers.net 4-Blocks mailring. This week we'll share with you the many bits teachers have decided to share with kids over the coming year.
